How to enable forgot password in registration client

This is a step-by-step instruction on how to configure the forgot password feature in the registration client.

  1. Add the property mosip.registration.forgot_password_url in the registration-default.properties file on the mosip-config project.

  2. On Keyclock, under Realm Settings, navigate to the Login tab and enable forgot password.

  3. Also on realm settings, go to the email tab and configure the host, port, from, and authentication. Here the authentication username and password should be obtained from your email provider. Please refer to the following article on how to set up a regular Gmail account for authentication.

How to reset a password from the registration client login page

  1. Open the registration client, input your username and click on the “forgot password“ link on the following screen.

  2. The link will open a new window on your browser where you will be asked to type either your username or email. Here, you need to make sure that the correct email address has been registered to your username on keyclock.

  3. You will then receive an email with a link to reset your credentials. The link will direct you to a page where you can enter your new password.
